unnamed, L. Kohn, 4" x 9", oil on canvas
Welcome to my blog! I am an art collector who enjoys collecting art by artists who are not well documented, or not documented at all, and then documenting them on my art collection web site. I frequently receive emails from folks in connection with my collection, so I thought I would create this blog to give folks a chance to comment on the art I find, the biographies I create for these artists and get some help from anyone who has information about these artists. Any comments welcome.

I'm thrilled you started this blog. I, too, have a painting by L. Kohn.....purchased at a garage sale for the HIGH price of $.25!!!!! I love it. It's approx. 4x5" in an ugly frame. If you'd like a picture, contact me at dsdashersmom at g.mail. :)
ReplyDeleteI have an L Kohn too. Mine looks like it is from France or someplace like that. I have seen some of his work that has sold for over $300, but most are in the $200 to $250 range. I still know nothing about this artist, except they are good, whoever they are. Feel free to write me back at costcose@gmail.com if you find out more about L Kohn. Thanks!

I have a small painting by this artist too. The painting was purchased at the Charles Z. Mann Gallery in New York, NY, the date unknown. On the back of the framed canvas, it says "This Certifies this original oil painting was created by a member of GUILD OF MASTER ARTISTS . .
ReplyDeleteI have a small still life, a bowl with lemons limes and oranges cascading out
ReplyDeleteI have a beautiful 'beach scene' by L. Kohn that was given to me by my Granny. The oil painting doesn't like the same style of the 2 posted on the kwqd website but the signature is the same. I'm not sure where my Granny obtained the painting from - she was from the UK and I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I you'd like to see my painting, I'd be happy to email it to you. I am curious if anyone else thinks it's the same L. Kohn. I can be reached at ymbeavington@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI too have a L. Kohn painting of a bowl of fruit. It is a big painting. I received it from my aunt over 15 years ago. I am running into dead ends trying to figure out who he/she was. Ludwig Kohn??? or someone else. Any information would be grand.
